DESCRIPTION OF THE SUCCESS OF TREATMENT IN POSITIVE SMEAR

TUBERCULOSIS PATIENTS IN THE WORK AREA OF SUNGAI KAKAP PUBLIC

Abstract
Background: Treatment success rate (SR) is an indicator used as an evaluation of TB
treatment which is the sum of the cure rate and complete treatment rates. At Sungai
Kakap Public Health Center, the treatment success is known to be at 78% in 2016 and
90% in 2017. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to see the description of treatment
success in positive smear pulmonary TB patients in the work area of Sungai Kakap
Public Health Center in Kubu Raya in 2016-2017. Methodology: The research design
used was descriptive with the studicase series approach. A total sample of 55 people
used the TB 03 form document review and questionnaire. Sampling is done by
purposive sampling method that is by consecutive sampling. Data were analyzed by
univariate analysis. Results: The majority of respondents were male (60%), 54.4% of
respondents aged 26-45 years, 44.7% of respondents with basic education, knowledge
of the majority of respondents was less (49.1%), 56.4 % of respondents who worked,
61.8% of respondents had income per month ≤ 2,075,000, 65.5% of respondents were
non-smokers and 58.2% of respondents with remote access to health services. Most
respondents were new patients with category I treatment (74.5%). Most PMOs come
from families (83.6%) and most PMOs play a good role (56%). The majority of the
motivation of respondents was good (56%) from themselves, moderate motivation from
family (47%) and less motivation from health workers (47%). Conclusion: Knowledge,
role of PMO and motivation of both self, family and health workers support the
successful treatment of patients
