CHAPTER IV

PRESENTATION, ANALYSIS, AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA

This chapter contains information significant to the presentation, analysis, and

interpretation of collected data from 80 respondents from Grade 7 to Grade 10 students of

Guiguinto National Vocational High School in Poblacion, Guiguinto, Bulacan. The tables are

presented logically to answer the problem of the study.

Profile of the Respondents

The respondents consisted of representative for 80 students of Guiguinto National

Vocational High School in Poblacion, Guiguinto, Bulacan. The tables presented the result of part

1 of the Survey Questionnaire comprising of name, age, gender, and grade level (See tables 2, 3

and 4).

The age distribution of the respondents was reflected into two age groups (12-14, and

15-17). Most of the respondents were female and male.

Students Age

The table presents the age distribution of the respondents reflected into three age groups

(12-14, and 15-17). The respondents were from Guiguinto National Vocational High School in

Poblacion, Guiguinto, Bulacan.

Table 2 shows the frequency and frequency distribution of the respondents’ age. Sixty

(60) percent of the sample population belongs to age bracket 12-14 year corresponding to 48

respondents.

This age group was followed by those who were 15-17 years old with 32 student

respondents comprising 40 % of the total number of student respondents.

Students Sex

The table was presented the sex distribution of the respondents that most of the

respondents were male and female. The respondents were from Guiguinto National Vocational

High School in Poblacion, Guiguinto, Bulacan.

Based on the data in the table 3, it shows that the number of student respondents with

respect to gender classification female has a 60 % or 63 student respondents out of 80. On the

other hand, the male has 40 % or 37 student respondents.

Students Grade Level

The table was presented the grade level of the respondents from Guiguinto National

Vocational High School in Poblacion, Guiguinto, Bulacan.

Based on the data in the table 3, it shows that the number of student respondents in Grade

7 has 25% or 20 students, Grade 8 has 25% or 20 students, Grade 9 has 25% or 20 students and

Grade 10 has 25% or 20 students.

Based on the data in the table 4, it shows that in Question #1: “Do you use Facebook” the

answer of the respondents was reflected into three answer the Yes, No and Sometimes. The

number of respondents answer “Yes” in Grade 7 has 95% or 19 respondents, in Grade 8 has 95%

or 19 respondents, in Grade 9 has 100% or 20 respondents, and in Grade 10 has 100% or 20

respondents.

The number of respondents answer “No” in Grade 7 has 5% or 1 respondent while the

number of respondents answer “Sometimes” in Grade 8 has 5% or 1 respondent.

Based on the data in the table 4, it shows that in Question #2: “Do you still use

Facebook” the answer of the respondents was reflected into three answer the Yes, No and

Sometimes. The number of respondents answer “Yes” in Grade 7 has 95% or 19 respondents, in

Grade 8 has 95% or 19 respondents, in Grade 9 has 100% or 20 respondents, and in Grade 10 has

100% or 20 respondents.

The number of respondents answer “No” in Grade 7 has 5% or 1 respondent while the

number of respondents answer “Sometimes” in Grade 8 has 5% or 1 respondent.

Based on the data in the pie graph 1, it shows that in Question #3: “What do you get

using Facebook” the answer of the respondents was reflected into five answers the Information,

Updated, Entertainment, Communication and Needed.

The number of respondents answer “We get some information” from Grade 7-Grade 10

has 50% or 40 respondents, in “We want to be updated” has 15% or 12 respondents, in “We want

to be entertain” has 15% or 12 respondents, in “We want a communication to friends and family”

has 16% or 13 respondents and in “We need it” has 8% or 3 respondents.

Based on the data in the table 4, it shows that the respondents that answer “they spend 1-5

hours in using Facebook” from Grade 7 has 90% or 18 respondents, from Grade 8 has 70% or 14

respondents, from Grade 9 has 90% or 18 respondents while from Grade 10 has 75% or 15

respondents.

The respondents that answer “they spend 6-10 hours in using Facebook” from Grade 7

has 10% or 2 respondents, from Grade 8 has 20% or 4 respondents, from Grade 9 has 10% or 2

respondents while from Grade 10 has 5% or 1 respondent. The respondents that answer “they

spend 11-15 hours in using Facebook” from Grade 8 has 10% or 2 respondents, while from

Grade 10 has 15% or 3 respondents. The respondents that answer “they spend 16-24 hours in

using Facebook” from Grade 10 have 5% or 1 respondent.

The table 4 shows that the highest percentage or highest respondents is “they spend 1-5

hours in using Facebook” with the percentage of 81% or 65 respondents from Grade 7 to Grade

10 while the lowest percentage or lowest respondents is “they spend 16-24 hours in using

Facebook” with the percentage of 1% or 1 respondent from Grade 7 to Grade 10.

Based on the data in the table 5, it shows that the respondents from Male (Grade 7)

answer “True” has 0% or 0 respondent and the answer “False” has 25% or 5 respondents, while

from Female (Grade 7) answer “True” has 25% or 5 respondent and the answer “False” has 50%

or 10 respondents. It shows that the Female (Grade 7) has the highest percentage answered

“False”.

The respondents from Male (Grade 8) answer “True” has 1% or 5 respondents and the

answer “False” has 20% or 4 respondents, while from Female (Grade 8) answer “True” has 20%

or 4 respondent and the answer “False” has 55% or 11 respondents. It shows that the Female

(Grade 8) has the highest percentage answered “False”.

The respondents from Male (Grade 9) answer “True” has 10% or 2 respondents and the

answer “False” has 40% or 8 respondents, while from Female (Grade 9) answer “True” has 5%
or 1 respondent and the answer “False” has 45% or 9 respondents. It shows that the Female

(Grade 9) has the highest percentage answered “False”.

The respondents from Male (Grade 10) answer “True” has % or 1 respondent and the

answer “False” has 45% or 9 respondents, while from Female (Grade 10) answer “True” has

10% or 2 respondents and the answer “False” has 40% or 8 respondents. It shows that the Male

(Grade 10) has the highest percentage answered “False, they are not disappointed when no one

comments on their post”.

Based on the data in the table 6, it shows that the respondents from Male (Grade 7)

answer “True” has 20% or 4 respondents and the answer “False” has 25% or 5 respondents,
while from Female (Grade 7) answer “True” has 10% or 2 respondent and the answer “False”

has 45% or 9 respondents. It shows that the Female (Grade 7) has the highest percentage

answered “False” .

The respondents from Male (Grade 8) answer “True” has 10% or 2 respondents and the

answer “False” has 20% or 4 respondents, while from Female (Grade 8) answer “True” has 45%

or 9 respondent and the answer “False” has 25% or 5 respondents. It shows that the Female

(Grade 8) has the highest percentage answered “True”.

The respondents from Male (Grade 9) answer “True” has 10% or 2 respondents and the

answer “False” has 40% or 8 respondents, while from Female (Grade 9) answer “True” has 15%

or 3 respondents and the answer “False” has 35% or 7 respondents. It shows that the Male

(Grade 9) has the highest percentage answered “False”.

The respondents from Male (Grade 10) answer “True” has 20% or 4 respondents and the

answer “False” has 40% or 8 respondents, while from Female (Grade 10) answer “True” has

15% or 3 respondents and the answer “False” has 25% or 5 respondents. It shows that the Male

(Grade 10) has the highest percentage answered “False, they are not prefer talking people on

Facebook than in person”.

Based on the data in the table 7, it shows that the respondents from Male (Grade 7)

answer “True” has 15% or 3 respondents and the answer “False” has 10% or 2 respondents,

while from Female (Grade 7) answer “True” has 35% or 7 respondent and the answer “False”

has 40% or 8 respondents. It shows that the Female (Grade 7) has the highest percentage

answered “False”.

The respondents from Male (Grade 8) answer “True” has 15% or 3 respondents and the

answer “False” has 10% or 2 respondents, while from Female (Grade 8) answer “True” has 35%

or 7 respondent and the answer “False” has 40% or 8 respondents. It shows that the Female

(Grade 8) has the highest percentage answered “False”.

The respondents from Male (Grade 9) answer “True” has 15% or 3 respondents and the

answer “False” has 35% or 7 respondents, while from Female (Grade 9) answer “True” has 30%

or 6 respondents and the answer “False” has 20% or 4 respondents. It shows that the Male

(Grade 9) has the highest percentage answered “False”.

The respondents from Male (Grade 10) answer “True” has 15% or 3 respondents and the

answer “False” has 35% or 7 respondents, while from Female (Grade 10) answer “True” has
15% or 3 respondents and the answer “False” has 35% or 7 respondents. It shows that the Male

and Female (Grade 10) has the same percentage answered “False, they are not attempt to reduce

the amount of time they spend on Facebook but have not been successful”.
