LA CORRUPCIÓN COMO ELEMENTO ORGÁNICO Y FUNCIONAL DEL

CAPITALISMO: UN ANÁLISIS PARA LA FILOSOFÍA PRÁCTICA

Resumen: En América Latina, se ha llegado a desarrollar índices descomunales de

corrupción, incluyendo mandos medios y altos de la sociedad; comprendiendo a los poderes
del Estado: ejecutivo, legislativo y judicial que se controlan entre sí supuestamente;
abarcando a civiles y a militares de diversas jerarquías; a la mezcla de particulares con
funcionarios públicos que maquinan nacional e internacionalmente. Sin embargo, la gente
del común suele imaginar que son casos aislados, de inmoralidad o de comportamiento
degenerado por parte de individuos dentro y fuera de las instituciones, seguramente
impulsados desde antes por marcos de formación disfuncionales de familia o de la escuela.
Se cree que la corrupción es un caso eminentemente ético que puede ser corregido con
algunos ajustes, sin necesidad de transformar completamente la sociedad (capitalista). La
tesis que se va a defender aquí es que la corrupción es estructural al capitalismo, y eso hace
que ella no sea solamente un asunto de ética sino también de política.

Abstract: In Latin America, huge amounts of corruption have been developed, including
middle and upper management of society; comprising the powers of the State: executive,
legislative and judicial that supposedly control each other; covering civilians and military
personnel of different hierarchies; to the mixture of individuals with public officials who
work nationally and internationally. However, ordinary people often imagine that they are
isolated cases of immorality or degenerate behavior on the part of individuals inside and
outside institutions, probably driven by dysfunctional family or school training frameworks.
It is believed that corruption is an eminently ethical case that can be corrected with some
adjustments, without the need to completely transform society (capitalist). The thesis that is
going to be defended here is that corruption is structural to capitalism, and that makes it not
only a matter of ethics but also of politics. In fact, the continuity between ethics and politics
is not new, at least in Western culture.
