Lesson Plan In English 9

Class Description: Grade 9 Orchid/ Rose


Time Frame: 1 day
Content Standard
The learner demonstrate understanding of how Anglo- American Literature and other text types as means
of preserving and unchanging values in an unchanging world; also how to use full-length play,
tense consistency modals, active and passive construction plus direct and indirect speech to
enable him/her competently performs in a full-length play.
Performance Standard
The learner competently performs in a full- length play through applying effective verbal
and non-verbal strategies and ICT resources based on the following criteria: Focus, Voice,
Delivery and Dramatic Conventions.
Learning Competency
EN9G-IVa-22:
I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, students must be able to:
a. define Active and Passive voices
b. analyze the difference between active and passive voice
c. construct and convert active voice into passive voice
d. appreciate the lesson by showing active participation of the students towards
the lesson

IV. Teaching Procedure


A. Before the lesson
- Prayer
- Attendance
- Review of past lesson

Motivation
In order to set the mood of the learners, the teacher will:
- Introduce to the class the game called GRAPHIC ENGLISH and let the
students guess the correct term of the following. (The teacher will tell the class to observe
what are the words used in the game.)
B. During the Lesson

Activity

- The teacher will then introduce another activity entitled BUSY PICTURE!
- This activity is integrated with science subject.
- The teacher will show 2 sets of different pictures in the class on how to
care the environment and science apparatus, allow the students to say
something about it and ask the students to write it on the board.

Analysis
The teacher will ask the following:
-What have you observed in the first sets of pictures? Who does the
action? What is the object in the sentence?
- How about the second set of pictures?
- What’s the difference between the first and second pictures?
- -What is Active voice? How about passive? What do you think is the
difference between Active and Passive Voice?
- How do we know if it is in active or in passive voice?
- Why do you think we need to familiarize and understand active and
passive voice?

- The teacher will process students’ answer.


-Discussion of the lesson.
- Ask clarifications to the students.

Abstraction
The teacher will ask the following question:
-how will you change the active voice to passive voice?
-then passive voice to active voice?

A. Application
- The teacher will introduce to the class a game called “SHAPE OF YOU” and
group them through choosing the shapes that displayed in front.
- Each student will choose a shape according to what talent they have possessed
The shape that they will be choosing will determine their group. Each shapes have
different task to be performed by the group.
- The teacher will instruct the class to proceed to the shapes they wish without any
noise, after they will identify their members they will go to their respective areas
and form a small circle. (the nosiest group will be deducted)

- Each group will perform the following: (3 minutes’ presentation)


Star: Role Playing
Heart: Song Number
Circle: Ms. Q and A
Triangle: Summarize the performance of all groups
They will be rated with the following criteria:

Content 25%
Cooperation 25%
Creativity 25%
Stage Performance 25%

TOTAL 100%

Note: Do not forget to highlight the proper usage and tense of Active and Passive
Voice

C. After the Lesson

V. Evaluation
On a ½ crosswise, construct at least five examples of sentences in Active
Voice and convert or transform it into Passive Voice.

VI. Assignment
Study in advance the next topic “The Ensuring Family Security” pp. 1-3 in Module
4 of your LM.
