I. Brief Description of the Project
Cost estimation is an important aspect of construction. Project managers always
have to ensure that the construction cost fits the budget. According to Riddell
(2018), here are categories that cost come from:
1. Labor
2. Materials
3. Equipment
4. Services
5. Software
6. Hardware
7. Facilities
8. Contingency costs
From these categories, project managers, estimate the cost of the construction
project. One of the ways to estimate project costs is using parametric estimating.
Parametric estimating involves computing for the amount of work to be done, and
the cost of each unit of work, then multiplying the number of work units to the cost
of each unit of work. This technique is most effective for infrastructures with
repetitive tasks (Riddell, 2018).

II. Expected Inputs and Outputs

Inputs:
 Dimensions of the building (length, width, height)
 Type of materials to be used
 How many workers are available
Outputs:
 Work to be done (in cubic meter)
 Cost per work unit
 Total cost estimate
*These variables are not yet complete, more will be added once further research
regarding the topic is done.
