April is Autism Awareness month! April 2nd is World Autism Awareness

Day. Arklan School will recognize World Autism Awareness Day by wearing
blue.
So, let’s LIGHT IT UP BLUE on April 2nd! Wear blue, paint your nails blue,
rock some blue hair, get creative!!!

Arklan families are a generous bunch!
Every year we collect non-perishable
food items and toiletries for our local
food bank. This years’ food drive
starts on Tuesday, April 2nd and con-
tinues until Friday, April 12th.

Earth Day is celebrated every year on April

22nd. Earth Day is the largest environ-
mental event in the world!
School-aged children all across Canada will
participate in Earth Day activities in their
own schools as well as throughout their
communities.
Arklan staff and students are proud to rec-
ognize and support Earth Day.

The students are constantly being reminded to
avoid the wet, muddy areas of the
yard….nevertheless, here are some suggestions
for this time of year….
• A pair of waterproof boots
• Plastic bag boot-liners, if necessary

Music Monday
On Monday, May 6th, the students of Arklan Public School
will once again be celebrating Music Monday, by partici-
pating in a concert which is being repeated all across Canada
on the same day. The concert will take place after lunch* on
May 6th. The choir will kick off the concert, and all classes in
the school (from JK to 6) will be performing.
Family members and friends are invited to attend.
