1. What comes to your mind when you come across with the word Tourism? How
would you differentiate tourist from excursionist?

 As a person coming from a place where the word "tourism" is widely known, it has
been a good word to hear because this word means "opportunity" and "beauty".
Opportunity because tourism industry has helped a lot of people when it comes to
business and employment-considered to be major impact of tourism,most especially
in the province of Bohol. Beauty because tourism makes us appreciate more of the
beauty of our nature, our country and its people and realizing how this place can
become more worth living for.
 A tourist is one that makes a travel or tour for pleasure,business and culture. He goes
out to not just one or two destinations but more, he expects to enjoy and get
familiarized and be educated by its culture and traditions. Tourist usually stays
overnight or longer in the place he is visiting. On the other hand, an excursionist is a
person who takes a short trip just for pleasure and goes home right after. He stays in
the place he visited not longer than 24hours. Example to excursionist is, a family who
goes out for an outing in beaches or nearby pinic areas and goes home before night
time.

2. Why tourism is important? What is the implication in our daily life?

 Tourism is important because it is the source of social welfare. It has been a great
help for the betterment of our country economically by providing employment and
business opportunities for everyone. It has been our motivation to help promote a
friendly environment-encouraging both residents and visitors take good care our
surroundings. With these oppurtunities, I can see how the tourism industry can bring
a brighter life to us and to our future generations, only if each and everyone of us will
do the effort in protecting and developing our country.
