ABSTRAK

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mendapat maklum balas guru pelatih


pengkhususan sejarah IPG Zon Utara tentang keberkesanan buku teks
Sejarah KSSR Tahun Empat. Sebanyak 50 item yang dikategorikan ke dalam
5 aspek utama dikemukakan, iaitu (i) kandungan, (ii) bahasa, (iii) aktiviti dan
latihan, (iv) persembahan serta (v) bahan grafik untuk menilai kualiti buku teks
tersebut. Kaedah tinjauan yang menggunakan set soal selidik ini melibatkan
sebanyak 60 orang guru pelatih. Data dianalisis secara statistik deskriptif dan
statistik inferensi. Hasil kajian menunjukkan persepsi guru pelatih terhadap
keberkesanan buku teks berada pada tahap sederhana bagi aspek isi
kandungan (nilai min,.... ). Manakala perspektif guru pelatih terhadap
keberkesanan buku teks berada pada tahap tinggi bagi aspek bahasa (nilai
min,.... ) , aktiviti dan latihan (nilai min,.... ), persembahan serta bahan grafik
(nilai min,.... ). Dapatan ujian t, menunjukkan tiada perbezaan persepsi guru
pelatih pengkhususan sejarah terhadap keberkesanan buku teks yang dikaji
berdasarkan jantina, institusi dan pengalaman praktikum. Dapatan kajian ini
diharapkan dapat membantu Bahagian Buku Teks dan panel penulis untuk
menghasilkan buku teks yang lebih berkualiti dan bermutu.
ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of primary four


History tekxtbook from the perspective of PISMP History trainee teachers at
selected teacher training institutes (IPG) in Northern of Malaysia. A total of 50
items categorized into 5 main aspects are presented, which are (i) content, (ii)
language, (iii) activity and practice, (iv) presentation and (v) graphic to
evaluate the quality of the textbook. 60 trainee teachers were inolved in this
study using the set of questionnaires. Descriptive statistic was utilized to
analized the data. The study found that aspect of content achieved a middle
level of frequency but the language, activity and practice, presentation and
graphic achieved a high level of frequency. The study also found that there is
no difference in the perception of PISMP History trainee teachers to the
effectiveness of textbool studied based on gender, institution and practical
experience. The findings of this study are expected to assist the Textbook
Division, Ministry of Education Malaysia and the textbook authors to produce
quality textbooks in future.
