Reflections upon the book “ Pondering ” by Shahid Dastghaib

Worldly Progression
& Spiritual Regression

Dear reader, those who fail are two types: Those who thought, but didn’t do, and those who did, but didn’t
think. Do you agree? Please think deeply of this holy verse from the Quran1.

Shahid Dastghaib2 in his book ‘Pondering’3 says: They only know the palpable life of this world, and are
oblivious of the Hereafter. Aren’t most people today of this type? All their knowledge goes back to this
materialistic life, and definitely they have done a
fantastic progress in it.

Shahid Dastghaib was born in Iran in 1913. He was a scholar like his father. Some of his books are: The Prayer of the Humble,
The Big Sins, The Pure Heart, Islamic Ethics, Prophecy, etc.. He was assassinated in 1981 in his way to Friday prayer.

The book talks about the importance of pondering in one’s life and to reflect upon the creations of Allah. The book generally
says that human value weights by the ideas that he carries.
