MUSICGARAGE.ORG CONCERT SERIES: WILMINGTON PLAZA, SUGARHOUSE SEP & OCT 2017
TALIA KEYS, TERENCE HANSEN, TONY HOLIDAY, JOHN FLANDERS SHARE THE STAGE WITH TEENS
Salt Lake City, UT A new, free concert series starts in Sugar House next month; MUSICGARAGE.ORG
CONCERT SERIES on Wilmington Plaza in Sugar House. Performances are on 2nd and 4th Tuesdays in
September and October. The concerts celebrate the 8th anniversary of the MusicGarage.Org afterschool and
summer programs and allow MusicGarage.Org youth bands to share the stage with local musical luminaries
including singersongwriter Talia Keys, virtuoso guitarist Terence Hansen, blues artist Tony Holiday and
saxophonist John Flanders. The concerts are free. The public is invited to patronize the restaurants and bars
on Wilmington Avenue; Acai with a Blend, Somi Vietnamese Bistro, Spitz, Tea Bar and RUIN.

alia Keys [singer songwriter] 6 9 PM
Whether she is sellingout the State Room, taking a stand for human rights at a
festival or inviting MusicGarage.Org students to perform with her band on the
Deer Valley Amphitheater stage, Talia Keys is natural entertainer and
powerhouse of selfexpression. Talia will perform her famous Gemini Mind
onewoman looping show. Opening Act: INSIDE JOB

ony Holiday & The Velvetones [blues] 6 9 PM
Also sellingout the State Room, Tony Holiday’s ‘dirtbag blues’ is a singular style
of blues harp (harmonica) that bring gritty and sweet to meet at the dark end of
the street. Tony’s generous volunteer work with the Utah Blues Society and as
a blues mentor to MusicGarage.Org blues musicians has and will continue to be
an inspiration. Opening Act: TROUBLED YOUTH BLUES BAND

erence Hansen Trio [crossneck guitar] 6 9 PM
A fave among Deer Valley lodges and resorts, Terence’s music is an immediate
attention grabber! His European tours of his oneofakind virtuosity is clear
from note one. Terence plays a signature ‘crossnecked’ (two necks) guitar
using a pianistic ‘tapping’ technique while singing, backedup by his equally
virtuoso trio. Opening Act: FLYT PLAN

ohn Flanders Jazz Quartet [jazz] 6 9 PM
John Flanders career has been truly luminary; from tours with the ‘5th Beatle’,
Billy Preston to recording with a wide number of internationally renowned jazz
artists, Flanders delivers the goods; from standards to bebop to modern jazz to
soulful funk and soul. Opening Act: STEVE AUERBACH
