No matter who you are, no matter what you do, you are judged by how you look.
How you dress and behave communicates to others how you feel about yourself. Is getting ready for your day a feel good experience? Have a packed
closet and still nothing to wear? Love color but have a wardrobe of gloomy darks? Are you constantly buying and yet never feel “put together?”

in following a lecture and taking good notes? How can I organize my time to do university work and pace my course load
accordingly? How do I study for and pass a university examination?
These modules will help anyone interested in being a successful university student; this will be the perfect place to get answers to
key questions before actually enrolling in university courses. You will experience a sample lecture, learn to read texts and study more
effectively, undertake library research and succeed on a sample test.

Online Requirements
Online courses offer students the opportunity to schedule much of their class work at times that are convenient to them.
Online courses also reduce the number of trips to the classroom and the library by incorporating the lecture and class
discussions into web pages and chat rooms.
WEB ENHANCED – a combination of both classroom and online formats; participants require access to the
Internet.
Just as you would prepare yourself for a face-to-face course, preparing your computer for online learning is
your responsibility. You will require an Internet connection and are responsible for the cost of arranging the
connection. Both dial-up and high-speed Internet connections are supported by WebCT-OWL. However, the
increasing sophistication of web-based resources means that it may take more time to access WebCT-OWL over
a dial-up connection. Please take this into consideration when choosing your Internet connection. Also, your
instructor may have hardware or software requirements specific to your course; please refer to the course outline.
A complete list of system requirements is available online at http://webct.uwo.ca. As well as minimum system
requirements, WebCT-OWL requires the Sun Java Virtual Machine (Sun JVM) to be installed on your computer.
Depending on the Internet browser you choose, some browser settings may need to be adjusted for maximum
functionality. For more details on browser settings and learning with WebCT-OWL, visit http://webct.uwo.ca.
