THE EFFECT OF SOCIAL GROUP ACTIVITIES THERAPHY AND COGNITIVE

STIMULATION GROUP ACTIVITIES THERAPHY ON THE INCREASE OF

VERBAL COMMUNICATION ABILITY OF PATIENTS OF SOCIAL
ISOLATION IN MELATI ROOM AND DAHLIA ROOM OF
MUTIARA SUKMA MENTAL HOSPITAL OF NTB

According to American psychiatric association in stuart (2009), mental disorder is a

behavioural syndrome which clinically has meaning psychological syndrome or a pattern that
is related to distress of one or inability to be involved in activity or in risky activity that may
cause death, sickness, or loss of sense. The social interection disorder is a personal disorder
that is not flexible, maladaptive behaviour, and causing individual disorder in social
relationship, (sudeen, 1998).
The research is in general aidmed at determining the effect of the therapy of
socialization group activities and cognitive stimulation on the increase of verbal
communication ability of patients of social isolation in melati room and dahlia room of
mutiara sukma mental hospital of NTB.
The samples of this research were selected through purposive sampling with one
group pre test-post test.
The research with the data analyisis with wilcoxon test using SPSS version 16.0
showed that p-value is 0.000. thist means that p-value is smaller than α (0.05) or 0.000 <
0.05. it is then inferred that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted which means that there is effect
of the therapy of socialization group activities and cognitive stimulation on the increase of
verbal communication ability of patients of social isolation in melati room and dahlia room of
mutiara sukma mental hospital of NTB.
In s hallucination is s sensory perception disorder of an object without any external
stimuli. This disorder effect all sensory. One of the efforts ot treat the hallucination disorder
is by applying classic music therapy on the decrease of level of auditory hallucination of
patient with hallucination in mutiara sukma mental hospital of west nusatenggara.
It is expected that nurses train clients of social isolation with verbal communication.
