JOINT BSP-GSP SCHOOL BASED JAMBORETTE

Scouting is a value laden activity which is very important part of student’s

life. It builds a character that is useful to the community and the society. It imparts
learning and teaches skills that are useful in the daily life. The learning that being
taught in scouting helps the individual student to be fruitful and beneficial in nation
building.
To make scouting enjoyable, the scouting activities are thoroughly prepared
in order that the scouters will not forget the experiences that they will encounter
during the camping activities. Every preparation from the opening, up to the
campfire celebration is unique that it makes the scouting activity a well-
remembered activity to the students.
Since scouting is integrated as part of school activities, the Deped Maaasin
City Division in conforming to the instructions from the higher authorities
implemented the scouting program in every school in the division. In line with the
aforementioned instructions, the Baugo National High School conducted its scouting
activity in the campus. The joint BSP-GSP school based jamborette were
participated by the whole community of students.
The weeklong activities were graced by community cleaning and services.
The students were required to clean up the community as one of the values
inculcated in scouting. The celebration was highlighted with games on December
14, 2013 where the scouts involved themselves in drill activities, cooking and
games. In the evening of December 14 Mr. Earl Roz, the Maasin City District IV
Boyscout Coordinator facilitated the campfire as the culmination activity of the
School Jamborette. It was a lifetime success since it was the first time the whole
students of the school witness the sacred campfire activity.
