Let's read the problem below.

Mother went to market. She bought meat for"P20.50, fish for=p14.00

and vegetables for P3.35. How much did mother spend?

To get the answer, we add'P20.50, ~4.00 and'P3.35.

• Begin adding the digits from the right.

Add the hundredth

Add the tenths

5 + 0 + 3 = 8 tenths

Add the ones

 Lesson 2- Subtracting Mixed Decimals

Let's read the problem below:

A piece of steel was 46.38 centimeters long.

Father cut and used 12.16 centimeters of this steel. How
many centimeters of steel were left?

To answer the problem, we subtract 12.126 centimeters from 46.38 centimeters .

• Begin subtracting from the right.

46.38 8 hundredths minus 6 hundredths equals

12.16 2 hundredths
3 tenths minus 1 tenth equals 2 tenths
6 ones minus 2 ones equals 4 ones
4 tens minus 1 ten equals 3 tens

• Write the decimal point.

The answer is 34.22 centimeters.
