mayor calidad.

Abstract
The capacity of flow and storage are variables of great importance in reservoirs. In
unconventional reservoirs include the microporosity index (ImP) is a determining factor
in the calculation of these variables, due to the fact that they have low permeabilities but
appreciable microporosities in their nature.
The total volume of hydrocarbons is equivalent to the product between the total porosity
and the saturation of hydrocarbons, which is similar to the porosity reported with
hydrocarbons. Under these conditions, the true resistivity can be considered as a good
indicator of microporosity, which allows to calculate the storage capacity. From the
resistivity well logs it is possible to know the amount of water contained in the formation
including the water on the grain’s surface with hydrocarbons. Pickett modified plots could
be used to determine the process of maturation and generation of hydrocarbons (SPE-

The main objective of this article is to lay the foundations and procedures to successfully
characterize the unconventional reservoirs located in La Luna formation, a generating
rock with promising characteristics that would allow to double the country's reserves in
the short term. It is mandatory to obtain real well data from the exploration campaigns
for accurate estimations and to be able to identify the best quality prospects.
