Daily Promises of God

for educators Philippians 1:4-6

NIV - In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the
gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in
you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

RSV - …always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, thankful for
your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. And I am sure that he who began
a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

KJV - Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, for your fellowship
in the gospel from the first day until now; Being confident of this very thing, that he which
hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.

LB - When I pray for you, my heart is full of joy because of all your wonderful help in
making known the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now. And I
am sure that God who began the good work within you will keep right on helping you grow in

his grace until his task within you is finally finished on that day when Jesus Christ returns.

Note to the educator

Everything Christ does for us and in us points to His return. I love this encouragement from
Y

Paul because not only does he set the example of praying for us, he can say with confidence
that He Who began a good work in you will see it through to completion. Your high calling is no
accident. You can not effectively remain in education without big picture thinking. Christian
educators have a great advantage because we know that we are working for the Lord and that
A

He will not only see us through, but holds the inheritance as our reward. Let us give thanks and
pray for the needs of others as we remain confident in Him.

1:16 PM prayer
D

Please pray that we may be peacemakers among our colleagues.

Quote for the day

Prayer is not conquering God’s reluctance, but taking hold of God’s willingness. Phillip Brooks
