students within the school setting.

Teachers works together with students,

families, staff and health care providers in
order to provide information on health,
promoting healthy activities, monitor
disease and illness and provide resources
and referrals when needed
Health history of the Family: In case there are few details missing in the above record, Health records
of the Family will help the Healthcare Professionals to notice the patterns of the disorders that runs in
the family (generally information is taken from three generations of relatives) and identify people with
a higher-than-usual chance of having disorders, such as Heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke,
certain cancers, diabetes, etc.

Symptoms and signs of Health disturbances: This may be in the form of loss of appetite, frequent

Before the start of the class each day, the Teacher should keenly observe her students and

sweating, etc. In these cases, the Teacher should contact the concerned parents immediately
and ask them to take the child back home or sent to the

The teacher is the most important link between the

parents and the School Management/Principal,
as the child spends more time with her other than
at home. Hence, she should be aware of every
child’s actions and behavior.
The teachers should be in regular contact with the
parents and discuss about any health issues/concerns.
This will give them confidence and provide assurance
that their kids are in safe hands.

Thus, the Teacher’s role is not just teaching

a kid, but participating in their overall
growth and development !!!
