April, 2019 BOARD MEETING
Catholic Education Week

Catholic Education Week is an opportunity to celebrate the important role that Catholic
Education plays in building our society. We celebrate Catholic Education Week this year from
May 5-10. As a district, we will once again participate in the #BlueforCatholicEd initiative. For
this, we ask that everyone in the district wear blue on Thursday, May 9.

Lakeland Catholic School District’s staff, students and their families learn, grow and contribute
to our community on a daily basis and Catholic Education Week is a wonderful time to
showcase our achievements. This week affords an opportunity to collectively reflect on and
highlight our successes.

Student Engagement for High School Redesign

Students will have the opportunity to provide feedback on High School Redesign this Friday, April 5
at Assumption School. Topics include: welcoming safe and caring schools, meaningful relationships,
personalization of learning, rigorous and relevant curriculum, mastery learning, flexible learning
environments, assessment, and home and community involvement.
