Plea seeks action
against sex rackets
Under the garb of massage parlours

The Delhi High Court on
Tuesday sought response
from the city police on a pe-
tition seeking action against
alleged sex rackets going on
in the Capital under the
garb of massage parlours
and spas.
A Bench of Chief Justice
Rajendra Menon and Justice
V. Kameswar Rao asked the
city police and Delhi govern-
ment to file response on the
plea and listed the case for
further hearing on Novem-
ber 27.
‘Immoral trafficking’
The petition, filed by Ateet
Bansal through his counsel
Abhishek Yadav and Mishi-
ka Singh, claimed that “im-
moral trafficking of girls for
the purpose of running ille-
gal sex rackets has become a
common occurrence in the
Capital”.
The petition said that
“most of these rackets are
running under the garb of
massage parlours, high-
class model escort services
in various hotels around
Delhi-NCR, with young girls
and women working in
these parlours who have
mostly been travelling from
countries like Thailand and
Russia”.
When Mr. Bansal en-
quired about information
on massage parlours, he re-
ceived various photographs
through WhatsApp of girls
involved in flesh trade.
The petition claimed that
the person providing the in-
formation asked Mr. Bansal
to meet at Nehru Place.
It further said that “un-
known person” demanded
₹12,000 on the pretext of
making him meet the girls.
“However, when the peti-
tioner reached the said ad-
dress, he was mercilessly
beaten by many unknown
people present there,” the
plea said.
It said that Mr. Bansal
complained to the police,
but nobody arrived at the
site.
He further said that re-
peated complaint to the
authorities have not yielded
any positive action till date.
“The police, even after
repeated tip-offs, has been
unable to take any action
against the offenders,” the
petitioner said.
