ABSTRACT

This action research was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of applying the Muzikpuzz
method to increase the mastery in skill of sounding and arranging three open syllables among
pre-school pupils. This research was conducted in a school in Seremban. The respondent for
this research is a 6-year old pre-school girl. The Muzikpuzz method was implemented for the
duration of 5 weeks. The data collection method for this research were observations,
interviews and document analyses. The research findings show that there is an increase in
the research participant’s sounding and arranging three open syllables test score. The results
from this research also indicated that the implementation of Muzikpuzz method was effective
in assisting pupil to master the skill of sounding and arranging three open syllables. The pupil
became confident, showed signs of interest and felt happy during teaching and learning
activities. In conclusion, the Muzikpuzz method helps the teacher to improve his pedagogical
practices in teaching pupils to master the skill of sounding and arranging three open syllables.
