1.) Give specific modes of reproduction.

 Sexual reproduction - It is the mode of

reproduction in which sex cells from two
organisms, one male and one female, combine to
form a singular zygote. This zygote shares half of
its genetic information with the father and the other
half with the mother.

 Asexual reproduction - It is the mode of

reproduction which involves only one
organism. The offspring that is produced
is genetically identical to the mother and
almost always has the same number of
chromosomes.

2.) Describe human development.

I. Fertilization - For fertilization to occur, sperm cells must be released in the vagina during
the period that the egg cell is alive. The sperm cells move through the uterus into the
fallopian tube, where one sperm cell may fertilize the egg cell.

II. Cleavage - Initially, the zygote splits along a longitudinal plane. The second division is
also longitudinal, but at 90 degrees to the plane of the first. The third division is
perpendicular to the first two and is equatorial in position. These early divisions produce
separate cells called blastomeres.

III. Morula and Blastocyst - The blastocyst is an early embryonic structure arising from the
preceding morula stage upon formation of a fluid-filled blastocyst cavity known as the
blastocoele or the blastocyst-cavity. The blastocoele is formed by the compaction process
within the morula.

IV. Implantation - process of attachment and invasion of the uterus endometrium by the
blastocyst (conceptus) in placental animals. In humans, this process begins at the end of
week 1, with most successful human pregnancies the conceptus implants 8 to 10 days after
ovulation, and early pregnancy loss increases with later implantation.

V. Gestation - every human being grew and developed inside a woman's body. This time we
spent ''cooking'' in the womb is called gestation. You may know it as pregnancy.
