Semester: 7th

Question # 1:
You are required to take basic online training on robotics from following official website of Universal
Robot (UR). https://academy.universal-robots.com/
Question # 2:
Watch following video of UR-based warehouse assistive robot. You have been asked to design AI
for this application:
1. Discuss which definition of AI you will choose and why?
2. Discuss what type of Environment is used.
3. Discuss PEAS and PAGE for this application
4. Select an appropriate architecture and discuss why you have selected.

Answer#1:

I think I will choose or go for weak AI for this robot because as we can see in the video the robot
work is based on some defined rules and we give him some input which output is already defined.
So its mean this robot does not base on cognitive reasoning. By putting all these reasons in front I
will say the best option is to choose definition of weak AI for this project.

Answer#2:

I think in this project different types of environment are used as we see during the task robot can
face unpredictable events so I will say the environment is stochastic. There is another type of
environment which is used called multi agent as we see there are more than one robot. For example,
arm robot and car robot etc.

Answer#3: PEAS AND PAGE:

Performance Measure: The task of delivering and picking the tire is performed completely
correct and accurate.

Environment: This warehouse consists of different types of stuff and robots.

Actuators: Claw, Jointed Arm, Small Car on which the arm is mounted.

Sensors: there is a sensor on moving board to avoid collisions. Another sensor is in the warehouse
to find and verify the position of every item and one sensor is on the Arm for giving items in
human arm.

Percepts: Sensory Input from different sensors and safety devices,

Actions: Move on wheels. Turn left right forward and backward, pick items, put in basket, stop,
slow down, accelerate, give to human hands.

Goals: pick the correct object and reach the correct drop off location. place the object in the basket,
perform the task correctly and accurate and find exact destination to pick correct object.

Environment: Storage of multiple types of parts, tools etc.

Answer#4:
I think I will select rational architecture as we know this robot learn itself how to go for correct
location to pick item and how to pick correct item for which robot is programed and then give it
to the correct place by finding best way so this rational architecture makes robot to complete its
task more successfully.
