to Build OjaS
Choose foods from the following list to build the vital essence known as
ojas, which is associated with our energy, strength, libido, and immunity.
An ojas-building diet should include at least 60% foods from this list.

o Almonds o Mung Beans


o Bananas o Pumpkin Seeds
o Cashews o Raw Milk
o Coconut meat/milk o Sesame Seeds
o Dates o Sweet Potatoes
o Figs o Tahini
o Ghee o Turnips
o Honey o Whole Grains
o Leafy Greens o Zucchini

Also include:

- Any fresh/seasonal juicy fruits (e.g., peaches and grapes in summer): best
when stewed or lightly warmed to optimized digestion; ideally eaten on their
own and not combined with other foods
- Healthy cooking oils: use oils for cooking and for finishing dishes. Avocado,
olive, coconut and sunflower oils are all great choices.
- For all foods listed, it is best to choose organic versions when available.

Foods that deplete ojas:

- Dry foods - Refined sugars and flours


- Raw foods - All processed foods
- Canned or frozen foods - Alcohol
