Math lesson reflection 5

The lesson was about identifying how to use place value to Add Decimals.This
lesson was for grade 4studnts. The lesson takes place in the grade 4 math
classroom. My achievement was working on classroom management so before
starting the lesson, I but behavior chart for each group in front of them, I tell
them if your behavior is good and you listing to me and participates in class I
will give you one start if you achieve five stars, I will bring for you gift. So, every
time if they answer and good behaviour, I give them one star. First teacher
recap what they token last week, last week they token how to add fraction.in
the induction I but spares activity is activity will be about 2 questions about
adding. one adding fraction and one adding mixed fraction and I give them one
min to finish it. After that, I ask students to pull out the bag2 to and answer the
challenge question. The question was about adding decimals, I ask them what
the method is to solve this problem. And I see all most student’s git the answer
right. Then in the modelling I use learning models, first I do they watch me
when I model the lesson. Then I do they help me. First, I show them one
example how to do it than I write other example and students help me to do it
the give me the role, after that, I write other example and I call one student to
do it the board and rust of class also they trying to solve it in their whiteboard.
During the activity, I observe them are they understand and complete the work
our they need assistance. In the conclusion I review the lesson by give them 2
questions to do it in the board. The last stage of learning models they do I
watch them and without help, In the formative assessment I give students A5
paper I write one question in the board and students copy it in the paper and
answer it. to check their understanding and then decide if the topic needs re-
taught, I found that students able to answer it, but few students write the
answer without decimal. Next time when I teach this lesson, I have to make
sure that I tell them the what the method, to add decimals, the role is to start
from right to left, and if when have number like 10 write the 0 in tenth’s place
and one in the ones place and add it.In this lesson I use Bruner theory personal
discovery, in is begging of class when I give students challenge questions how to
add decimals, students learn more by searching for information by their self and
finding answers. Also, I use Vygotsky theory which is social interactions. when
the students work together, talk together, during the activity and in the
introduction.
