Drop Stitch Ribbon Scarf

Needles: 1 pair size 13 (9mm)

Finished Size: approx. 5” wide by 50+” long

Gauge: not important

Yarn: ribbon yarn; photo shows Lion Brand

Incredible in “Carnival”

Notes: You can vary the number of yarn overs to

make the drop stitches shorter or longer. (I used
3 yarn overs in the pictured one).

Instructions:
1) cast on 19 stitches

2) knit 6 rows in garter stitch

3) knit 1, *yarn over 3 times, knit 1. Repeat from * across row (you should be ending with a
knit)

4) knit the next row, dropping the wraps off the needle as you go

5) knit 5 rows in garter stitch

6) repeat line numbers 3-5 until the scarf is as long as you want

7) bind off, weave loose ends in or if adding fringe (see “Finishing” below), you can leave
them hanging loose to become part of the fringe

Finishing: cut lengths of fringe for the ends if you desire. I used 2 10” pieces of the ribbon
yarn in every other stitch to create my fringe.
