 Greetings
Good morning, class! Good morning, my dear teacher.

 Checking of Attendance
BSAgEd 2, may I have your
attendance?? Here is our attendance ma’am.

Thank you. How about the

attendance of BEEd? Here is our attendance ma’am.

Thank you.
Very good! Everyone is present.

A. Preparation

1. Review

Last meeting we discussed about

Uniform Rectilinear Motion. So
class, what can you say about
Uniform Rectilinear Motion? It is a motion of a particle along a
Yes? straight line is called rectilinear
motion, linear motion or one
dimensional motion.
Exactly!
And we also talked about the
equation used in this case. What is
it again?

Okay, you. Equations of motion or

Kinematical equations, ma’am.

Alright!
You really understood our
discussion last meeting.

2. Motivation
Okay! Class, I will divide you into
two groups and I want you to use
this object in identifying the motion
of this in a certain situation. I will
give an instruction so, please listen
carefully. I want you to describe the
motion of this object, considering
the speed, direction, and what is
the cause of the motion. This is a
group activity, you can ask the idea
of your group mates but please
minimize the tone of your voice,
okay.
Let’s start. Are you ready? Yes, Ma’am! We are all ready.

(The teacher will instruct the

students of how they will move the
object that they’re holding. The
teacher will allow the
representatives to explain their
observation about the motion of the
object. (Students will follow the
instruction of the teacher and
they are going to explain their
observation about the motion of
The activity that you’ve done has the object.)
something to do with our lesson for
today. Later on you’ll know what is
the connection of the activity to our
new lesson.

B. Presentation (Analysis)
Unlocking the Difficulties:
We are going to tackle about
motions and how they work. I am
going to discuss to you a topic
about motion. The uniform
accelerated motion and the free fall
.Are you familiar with it?
Not yet, Ma’am.
That’s alright. I will give some
example of it and later I will
elaborate it to you.
An example of Uniform accelerated
motion is like this.

(The teacher will show a picture.)

Free fall is looks like this.

(The teacher will show a picture.)

These motions are the one you did

earlier. Am I right?
Yes, Ma’am
C. Lesson Proper

Now let me explain to you the

Definition and Motion Equations.
First is Uniform Accelerated
Motion.

(Let the student read the meaning

of Uniform Accelerated Motion.) Uniform Accelerated Motion is a
motion in which the acceleration
does not change (even though
the velocity is changing).
Okay, thank you!
Uniform Accelerated Motion is the
motion of the point such that its
tangential acceleration (w) is
constant. In the case of Uniformly
Accelerated Rectilinear Motion, the
point’s acceleration (w) is constant.
It clearly said that the Uniform
Accelerated Motion is constant.

Here are the formulas or the

equations that you can use in
solving a problem.

(The teacher show the fundamental

equations of motion for constant/
uniform acceleration to the
students)

In solving a problem always

remember the initials GUFSA it will
help you to solve problems neatly
and properly.

(The teacher will write the meaning

of the initials GUFSA in the chalk
board.)

Okay class let’s try to solve a

problem.

(The teacher gives a sample

problem.) (The students try to solve the
problem with the help of his/her
teacher.)

Is there any question? None, Ma’am.

Let us proceed to the next

definition, the free fall. Please read. Free Fall is any motion of a body
where its weight is the only force
acting upon it.
When a falling object is free from
all forces and it has no friction or
air resistance occur it is called free
fall.
Galileo conducted an experiment
from the top of the Tower of Pisa.
He dropped two cannon balls of
different weights from the top of
Leaning Tower of Pisa. The two
cannon balls reached the ground at
the same time. He proved that
when objects of the different
weights are dropped at the same
height and time, they take the
same amount of time to fall to the
ground.

Is it clear? Yes, Ma’am!

The gravity is always equal to 9.8

m/s2 and to solve a simple problem
solving we can use the kinematic
equations. Is anyone of you has an
idea about kinematics?
Yes, please. Kinematics is the study of the
motion without reference to the
cause of motion.
Excellent!
Here are the formulas or the
equations that you can use in
solving a problem.

(The teacher show the kinematic

equations to the students)

Okay class let’s try to solve a

problem.

(The teacher gives a sample

problem.) (The students try to solve the
problem with the help of his/her
teacher.)

Is it all clear? Yes, Ma’am.

Very good, class! You really

understood what the lesson is all
about!

D. Generalization (Abstraction)
All in all, what did you learn from
our discussion for today? I learned that … (Answers vary)

Very well said!

E. Application

The teacher divided the class into

two groups:
Group A: formulate a sample
problem (include the solution) of
uniform accelerated motion.

Group B: formulate a sample

problem (include the solution) of
free fall.

IV. Evaluation

The teacher gives a

sample problem that
students need to solve.
Using the posted equation
on the board let the student
solve the problem in a one
whole sheet of pad paper.

Solve the following

problems encircle your final
answer.
1. From rest, a car
accelerated at 8 m/s2 for
10 seconds. What is the
position of the car at the
end of the 10 seconds?
2. A train brakes from 40
m/s to a stop over a
distance of 100m. what
is the acceleration of the
train?
3. A boy on a bicycle
increases his velocity
from 5 m/s to 20 m/s in
10 seconds. What is the
acceleration of the
bicycle?
4. Upton Chuck is riding the
Giant Drop at Great
America. If Upton free
falls for 2.6 seconds,
a. what will be his final
velocity?
b. how far will he fall?

V. Assignment
A. Problem solving:
1. A feather is dropped on the
moon from a height of 1.40
meters. The acceleration of
gravity on the moon is 1.67
m/s2. Determine the time for
the feather to fall on the
surface of the moon.
2. A car was travelling at a
speed of 70 km/h, the driver
saw a rabbit on the road and
slammed on the breaks.
After 6.0 seconds the car
came to a halt, how far did
the car travel from the point
where the breaks were first
pressed to the point where
the car stopped?
B. Give the meaning of the
following words.
1. Projectile motion
2. Projectile
3. Trajectory
4. Range (dx)
5. Height (dy)

Thank you so much for

participating. This ends our
discussion for today. Let us all
stand and pray.

(Everybody will pray.)

Goodbye class! God bless you. Goodbye, Ma’am! May the lord
reward you.
