Explain why you chose this artifact as your best representation of this particular INTASC 
standard. 
 

I chose this journal to use as an artifact because it changed my perspective on teaching 

strategies. Prior to writing this journal, I learned several techniques of using differentiated 

learning through observing a middle school class. Then, I wrote a reflection to summarize the 

strategies I discovered. This artifact shows how important it is to teach every learner in a 

specialized way.  

Reflection: 

Reflecting on what I learned help me gain more knowledge on what I observed. From 

journaling about my observations, I have not forgotten the strategies I saw. Taking notes or 

journaling new information is crucial for teachers as well as students. As a future teacher, I will 

journal new ideas and concepts I have learned to reflect on it at a later time. It is important to 

observe other teachers and gain new ideas from them.
