1. TECHNOLOGY FOR INNOVATION (CODE: TFI)


Science and technological innovations have the potential to solve social problems and foster a human-
centered society. In particular, they provide unprecedented opportunities to reach communities that are
most likely left behind. This offers huge opportunities for innovators to develop and scale innovations
that could help address global development challenges.
 What technological innovations do you think will have the biggest impact on society? Elaborate
why and how countries should prepare for it.
 How should governments collaborate with the private sector to ensure technological
advancement in aligned with the public interest?
 How do we ensure that women, the youth, and people with disabilities can fully benefit and
have a voice in influencing the direction of technological innovations?

2. INFRASTRUCTURE FOR DEVELOPMENT (CODE: IFD)


Robust infrastructure plays a big role in ensuring a region-wide integration and equitable economic
development, which is particularly vital for a country as widely-dispersed as Indonesia. Establishing
connectivity between regions is key to solving regional inequality that has left some communities
isolated from more developed economic centers.
 Which one is more important for Indonesia: physical or digital infrastructure development?
Elaborate why and provide examples.
 What are some innovative financing ideas that the government should explore to bridge the
funding gap?
 How can the G20 play a role in supporting infrastructure needs in developing countries?

3. CLIMATE CHANGE AND SUSTAINABILITY (CODE: CCS)


The transformation from having an awareness to applying a daily habit of environmental and climate
change management has become vital in all sectors. There have been big campaigns on plastic ban,
non-fossil business, and marine protection. These have triggered and forced all industries and
commercial businesses to become more environmentally-friendly.
 How can business/economic sectors ensure that their environmentally-friendly campaign and
media image truly reflect their sustainable consumption and production?
 To what extent can young people work together with the private sector and the government to
promote resource efficiency and encourage eco-innovations?
 What is the foremost climate change policy that the Indonesian government should implement
or improve on, and why is that?

4. QUALITY EDUCATION FOR DEVELOPMENT (CODE: QED)


Education systems have a pivotal role to drive the global agenda of sustainable development and
facilitate collective action. However, despite it being a vital tool for disbursing quality, equality and
inclusivity in knowledge sharing, various challenges are faced on the ground because of the wide array
of economic, social, political and environmental dynamics that affect capacities and access.
