Activity The students will be completing a story using the
mobile app Mad Libs. The teacher will demonstrate
how to access the mobile app on the device using a
document camera. The students will open the app
on their mobile device (phone, iPad, tablet) and tap
on create a story. The students will apply their
knowledge of parts of speech, ex. verbs, nouns
adjectives, into the blanks the app gives them. At
the end, they would have created a fun story,
practiced and applied knowledge of parts of
speech. The teacher will have students volunteer to
share their funny stories they created with the
class.
Pedagogy
The students will be divided into groups to
collaboratively gather information on a research
topic using google docs. The teacher will give a
lesson on the aspects of research and will
demonstrate how to access the mobile app using a
document camera. The students will open the app
on their mobile device (phone, iPad, tablet).
Groups will be given a research topic. One person
from each group must create the document and
add classmates with their school google email
address. All students can contribute information at
once with their devices. They will use google docs
to develop notes, ideas, facts, questions retaining
to the topic. They are required one chart/graph and
must identify where they found their information.
They will then use the information gathered to

create a final draft of their research via google
