Children from the ages of 6-12 can earn a Junior Ranger Badge by completing seven of
Crater Lake’s Junior Ranger activity book.
Children from the ages of 6-12 can earn a Junior Ranger Patch by participating in ranger-
led activities that are 20 minutes each.
Trolley tour offered from July to mid-October. Tour starts at Rim Village and will take
visitors through the 33 miles of Rim Drive and around Crater Lake.
Guided hikes offered from July to September. Hikes are with a park ranger and visitors
learn about Crater Lake’s history.
From November to April, visitors can join a snowshoe ranger-guided walk. This gives
visitors the chance to learn about Crater Lake’s winter ecology.
Two campgrounds that families can camp on during the summer: Mazama Campground
and Lost Creek Campground.
