Governor Perry said, “We have an obligation to prt3ect unborn childr3en and to hold those who peddle abortions to standard that would minimize the death, disease, and pain that they cause.” Davis then explains that they never discussed what would help prevent unplanned pregnancies. She argues that prevention of abortions is not the surest way, but prevention of pregnancy is the surest way to decrease the demand for abortion. She talks about a long time ago when abortion was illegal, only the wealthy could afford abortions. They had the ability to travel to places that it was legal. The women who didn’t have the access would have to carry to term or use unsafe methods to abort the baby themselves. It some cases it could tern into a life-threatening consequence. Because of abortions being banned, it interfered with the woman’s healthcare decisions before her and her doctor could come up with a healthy decision for her own health and the health of the pregnancy. Less then 2% of abortions occur after 20 weeks. Davis claims it is still important that a woman and her doctor have every medical option available. In Texas they require abortions done after 16 weeks to be performed in ambulatory surgical centers. She says, “We trust our doctors, not the government, to determine what medical equipment and what sized room is necessary to provide us with good care.” Most abortions are outpatient procedures that could be performed in a health care center, making any other requests are unnecessary, and not about the health of women.
Most persuasive argument
I found the article Why abortion is bad for America to be the most persuasive article. In it, it states, every religion condemns the practice of abortion. They recognize life is a gift from the creator, and compels followers to believe that as well, as a basis tenet of faith. An argument is that the pro-abortion or “pro-choice” says there is a fundamental right to abortion in America. Even though people are pro-choice a lot of people think it is wrong and don’t agree with abortion. They just think it should be legal. They will claim its an unwanted child. The child is being brought into this world and isn’t going to be cared for. By saying that in this article they say the unwanted children that are already alive should be eliminated. After the argument of not being wanted gets shut down the move to the argument of well, it’s a woman’s body. The woman has the right to do anything she wants to her body. Well the woman does have a right to control her body, but there is also the right to live. The two rights are being conflicted together, a woman’s right to choose and the unborn child’s right to live. People will automatically say, our right to choose is more important than the right to live. It’s not a person, an embryo is not a person, a fetus is not a person. It is not a person because it cant live on its own. This thing was created by a person has the DNA of a person and it will become a person. Then people will say it is a person, but not a life. Its not a life because it can’t be sustained on its own without the person who has a right to choose. What they considered not viable in 1973 is viable now with the medicine we have today. We don’t know what the future has instore for us. Therefor viability is not a good argument. If only human beings are worthy for protection if they can be sustained on their own then we are also saying people with disability, people who are temporarily incapacitated are also not worthy of life. There can’t be life without life. My opinion and why? I believe abortions should be illegal. I think by getting an abortion you are killing a baby that can’t fight for itself. Once it has a heartbeat, I believe it is a baby. All the arguments of well it isn’t a human if it can’t sustain life on its own is a bunch of crap because even after a baby is born for the next 18 years of its life you are caring for that baby. You are giving it what it needs to live, just in a different form. I think the only time it is ever expectable to abort a baby is if the mother’s life is at a real dangerous risk of being lost. It should be illegal to abort a baby once you can find the heart beat on an ultrasound.
