Internship Title M-aker SPace Champion and Can Do Officer

Start Date As soon as possible after 20-5-19


Working Pattern 10 weeks / 350 hours
Flexible and to be discussed with the right person.
Foresee and need to work during working hours on projects and
potentially out of hours on events.
Pay £3,062.50 for the 10 weeks of work (£8.75 per hour)
Location M-SParc - Gaerwen – Anglesey.
M-aker SPace:
Job Description M-SParc has recently started setting up a Maker Space (Ffiws) in
partnership with Menter Mon in a lab in M-SParc and we are
looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual to help run
the space.
- Running inductions to the space, including Health &
Safety and how each piece of equipment works.
- Supervising people as they learn to use the space.
- Taking responsibility for your own time, including
arranging and liaising with people who wish to use the
space and make it interesting.
- Making sure people are aware of the space, assisting in
advertising, and keeping track of any ‘case studies’ that
come of it, i.e. – has someone started a company based
from their work in the space
- Developing bespoke furniture and marketing pieces for
M-SParc in the space.
- Go out and showcase in events as needed.
We will give you an induction to the space, but the individual
chosen must have the aptitude to be a quick learner, and take
initiative where they see reasonable
Essential Criteria You are required to embed into the M-SParc team and not work
in isolation.
You will be an ambassador for M-SParc so need to have the
right attitude, be open, approachable and energetic. Go look for
work, be positive!
Confident in your own abilities and willing to take opportunities.
You may be required to attend shows or roadshows to
showcase your work and share good practice.
Key skills would be Computer Science, programming and
hardware, electronics. These skills don’t need to be a part of
your course.

Desirable criteria The ability to speak Welsh is very desirable but not essential.
