What are constellations?

By “connecting the dots” formed by the stars, people see patterns in
the night sky. There are 88 recognized constellations. A constellation
is an area of the sky and all the stars in that area. The stars appear
to move or change position because of Earth’s rotation. Use with
Content Transparency #16B to see three constellations.
