In this interactive white board activity, the children will touch the board to solve

problems and learn about the sum or difference of two whole numbers .

Activity The object of this lesson is to introduce and compute the sum or
difference of two whole numbers. The teacher will first provide
a brief introduction into the definition of computation and
estimation using whole numbers. Students will then be able to
use this SMART Notebook lesson to solve problems pertaining to
these numbers. First, the class will be divided into two teams.
One person from each team comes to the front with a fly
swatter. The caller says a number. Payers mentally double the
number, find it on the game board and swats it with a fly
swatter. The first player to swat the number and says it gets a
point for his/her team. The scoreboard is linked to the game
board. This activity can also be modified to adding 0, 1, 2,
doubles +1, etc.
