To Whom It May Concern,

I am writing this to express my interest in the full time psychologist job for Portland Mental
Health and Wellness. I became aware of your job listing while looking for jobs in the Portland
area for my degree. After reading the job description, it became very aware that I would not only
love, but succeed at this job. I immersed myself in the background of your company and love
everything your company stands for and the work you do impresses me.

Currently I am pursuing my masters in psychological science. While going to school at

Northern Arizona University I received two degrees. I have my degree in psychological sciences
with a minor in anthropology. I also have my bachelors degree in criminology with a minor in
sociology. This would be my first job in line of work, but I feel I could make a great asset to you,
as well as, grow as a psychologist by learning from those around me. Having a degree is not a
requirement for this position, as stated in your lising, therefor I feel that my background of
schooling puts me above the others who have no degree in this field or any degree at all.

I hope to work for a company like yours to grow my experience. This job would help me grow as
a psychologist and help those in need. I admire how your workers build a relationship with their
patients to benefit their personal growth instead of trying to fix and cure them. With the right
environment and company I feel I can become a great psychologist and achieve my goal of
becoming a criminal psychologist.

Unfortunately I do not have any experience in this industry, but I do feel I have a great
understanding of what it takes to perform this job well. I noticed on your website that you
undergo meditation therapy and that is something I could excel at. I have a large history of
meditation and yoga. Throughout my years I have taught a few meditation classes and I
meditate on my own frequently. I also believe I would be great help to the child and adolescent
psychotherapy because I have been working with children since I was one. My mother has been
in the child service industry for as long as I’ve been alive, so I have also been around them.
When I was fifteen she started a career in special education and I hope help her with her kids.
This taught me how to act around young kids, be patient, and understand how to help a child who
is in distress. I have also had my own family battles in the past and I feel I could understand what
the child is going through and use my experience to help them.

I would like the opportunity to have a conversation to elaborate more on this topic. Please let me
know if you have any questions or would like to meet to talk about the opportunities you have
available. You can reach me by phone at 610-741-7941 or email at britt.smith45@yahoo.com.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely,
Brittany Smith
