The professional activity I attended was to receive my advanced cardiac life support
certificate. I participated in a class with a few other nursing students in an 8 hour class. During
this class, I learned more advanced concepts than taught in the Basic Life Support classes such as
different interventions to perform when patients are in various cardiac rhythms. I also learned
about the different medications given to help save someone’s life and what each medication
Where was this held and what was the program/activity length?
The Advanced Cardiac Life Support class was held at Eclipse CPR Training LLC. This is
located at 4500 East Speedway Blvd Suite 84 Tucson, Az 85712. The class lasted from 8am-
about 3pm. Part of the class was watching videos and discussing the content within the videos.
Other parts included basic discussion with the instructor and the last part consisted of hands on
CPR training and oral and nasal airway insertion training, along with a post-test.
This experience was very valuable to me because I can apply the things I have learned in
this class to my future career. Since I want to work in the ICU at some point, I felt that this
course would be beneficial to not only my career but everyday life. By knowing this information,
I could potentially help save some lives someday. I also found the content to be very interesting
to learn about. Some of the concepts I learned during this class, I had not learned in regular
school lecture. Overall, this experience was very valuable to me and I plan on renewing my
certification, when needed, to keep up on new advanced cardiac life life support concepts.

I would recommend this professional experience in the future because it is very relevant
to the career of nursing. It is helpful to know how to potentially save someone’s life during
critical times. This course also helps with the more advance side of life support because it can be
applied in the clinical setting. I believe it would benefit anyone looking for opportunities in the
