1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology coaching and technology leadership from completing this field
experience? I have trained this teacher in using an interactive blogs to increase engagement with an a scoped focus on Seesaw. We focused on using the
the platform to not only help with writing but to also communicate back and forth in a take turn method with other students. The teacher has been working
with students for nearly thirty years and holds a master’s degree in special education Through the coaching experiences I have undertaken this semester, I
have learned that there are many adopter levels when working with other teachers. Some are ready to jump in with both feet and learn as much as they can
about technology use in the classroom, while others are very reluctant to try anything new until they have seen great success with other teachers/students.
Luckily the person I was coaching in this field experience is very open to change and learning things that are new when it comes to technology.

2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs,
enthusiasm) required of a technology facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected above. Use the language of the PSC
standards in your answer and reflect on all 3—knowledge, skills, and dispositions.)

Knowledge – It was extremely helpful for us both to know the ability levels of the students we were working with when starting to devise a strategy for
engagement. Through the videos we can see how focus wavers from time to time and it was evident that we needed to make a modification. The Lucy
Calkins method shows many great teaching elements but something was missing. By working together we identified a communication platform would
increase engagement. We looked at which students were successful and which were not. Having this knowledge ahead of time helped us ensure that we
were meeting individual student needs, as well as designing a technology-enhanced learning experience that made appropriate use of differentiation. .

Skills – Skills that are required to ensure the success when using technology is to not only know the ability levels of the student, but also to recognize the
different types of devices and technology and the relevancy for the lesson. How to introduce it to the learner and ensure they obtain the highest level of
success with the technology is also a skill.

Dispositions –It is extremely important that the technology leader focus on the positive aspects of using the meaningful technology in the classroom. As
well as being extremely knowledgeable about the use of the particular devices they need to know the trouble shooting of those devices. The goal of using
technology is to engage students while helping them learn meaningful content. This allows them to participate with the world around them in an effective
way.
3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or student learning at your school. How can the impact be
assessed? This field experience will greatly impact faculty development and student learning by preparing the teacher for sharing this with staff and futute
students. The impact is being assessed by both the success of the students’ work and by how often the teacher uses it effectively.
