1. Introduction
a. Background (Introduction)
Transformation in learning education for sustainability requires
commitment from faculty and academics. With their efforts, motivations
and innovative ideas, changes in content and methods can be realized.
Examples of all curriculum reform and re-orientation to sustainability are
relatively limited. The debate about sustainability is focused on the
application of critical thinking based on a dynamic balance between
economic, social and environmental fields to create a better future. A more
comprehensive understanding emphasizes the importance of culture-based
estimates aimed at encouraging understanding of the underlying causes of
current trends in sustainability. For example, an analysis of the political
and cultural dimensions related to sustainability can facilitate a deep
understanding of the over-exploitation of the Earth. To do this, a
qualitative case study set was used in higher education institutions in
seven countries (Brazil, Serbia, Latvia, South Africa, Spain, Syria, United
Kingdom).
b. The Opening Sentence about the Author
Journal The of Roll of Transformation in Learning and Education
for Sustainability was written by 10 people consisting of W. Leal Filho1,
S. Raath2, B. Lazzarini3, VR Vargas4, L. de Souza5, R. Anholon6, OLG
Quelhas7, R. Haddad8, M. Klavins9, VL Orlovic10. The study was
conducted by the author on January 2018 and was completed in July 2018.
In summary, the author emphasizes the need to integrate non-traditional aspects
of sustainability in the discourse for example, highlighting the importance of
defining sustainable boundaries to incorporate new issues and paradigms into
traditional problems. The author emphasizes the inclusion of dimensions such as
ethics, culture and culture, as well as non-material values such as mutual
cooperation, solidarity and compassion seen as emerging issues that have been
ignored in previous approaches.

c. Purpose of Summary
Purpose of article this is to present how the transformation of learning
in education for sustainability requires commitment from the Faculty and
engineers from students. To do this, a qualitative case study set was used in
higher education institutions in seven countries (Brazil, Serbia, Latvia, South
Africa, Spain, Syria, United Kingdom).

d. Response to Summary (Positive or Negative)

I think the summary or content of this research is good because in
its summary it has discussed in depth about the transformation in learning
and education for sustainability carried out in seven countries.

2. Summary
a. Key Points or Keywords
● Education: Education for sustainable development has not been
efficiently integrated into the concept of transformation in higher
education
● Institutions Higher Education: Universities need to be transformed
to function as models of social justice and environmental care, and to
foster sustainable learning.
● Sustainability: to improve sustainability in the curriculum, academics
must develop a collaborative approach, and discuss how to redesign
their own disciplines, and how to appreciate epistemology and
multicultural vision of sustainability, both as topics, and as a field of
research education.
● Transformational: that flections from academics on value their own
values are very important to develop the transformative potential of
students as agents of a sustainable future.

b. Prominent Advantages
This journal has shown an example of a set of universities, in seven of
the countries one of which, Syria, is currently suffering from a conflict that has
long displaced millions of people who showcase how sustainable development is
being included as part of the University's program.

c. Prominent Shortcomings
So far, this research has not demonstrated transformation and learning in
matters related to sustainable development that can be integrated.

3. Methodology
a. Significant
In this journal it does not use significance because the type of research
includes qualitative research.
b. The Approach
Approach in this journal uses a Qualitative approach. A qualitative
approach is an approach in conducting research that is oriented towards
understanding social phenomena or symptoms about what is experienced
by the subject of research in order to gain a deep understanding which
subsequently produces a theory.
c. Writing Style and Text Structure
In this journal writing, it has been structured and has the demand to follow
Elsevier's journal writing rules and the provisions of international journal
writing.
d. Critical Argument for the Method Used
In my opinion the methodology used in this study must be more clear,
made systematically starting from what kind of research, how the
sampling technique, what data collection methods are used, and the data
analysis method used. The goal is to make it easier for readers to capture
or understand the contents of the journal.

4. Conclusions and References

a. Conclusions
This paper has shown an example of a set of universities, in seven
countries one of which, Syria, is currently suffering from a long period of conflict
that has displaced millions of people - which shows how sustainable development
is being included as part of a university program.
There are two contributions from this paper for new knowledge. First,
this presents a concrete example of transformative initiatives, also shows how
sustainability can be applied throughout the text. Second, this paper shows that
although transformative approaches to improving sustainability in the curriculum
are feasible and desirable, they need academics to develop collaborative
approaches, for example through working groups and the Faculty's learning
community, with open discussions on how to redesign courses, and foster an
epistemological appreciation for multicultural vision in teaching and learning.
This is admitted, not an easy task. In addition, universities must pay more
attention to the need to work towards integrated practices and theories,
highlighting in-service learning to promote edgy teaching staff, including student
involvement through synergistic action and ethical discussion.
The approach of the entire university to instill sustainability in HEI is
also recommended. If in place, maybe using teaching and learning, research,
community involvement and general campus operations as a tool for
transformation in learning and education for sustainability. Reflections from
academics on the values and support of their own universities for
interdisciplinary collaboration between them are essential to developing the
transformative potential of students as agents and a sustainable future.

b. Recommendations
It is recommended that research on Transformation in Learning
and Education for Sustainability be carried out in developing countries
such as Indonesia.
