Dreamers Dream

Builders Build
We at Koenigsegg Automotive are fortunate
enough to do both and in doing so, we fulfil the
dreams of others.

We stand now at the dawn of a new era for our

company. Recent investments in our factory, and
most importantly, in our people, see the compa-
ny and the wider Koenigsegg family growing like
never before. Everything is bigger at
Koenigsegg than it was a year ago today. We
have seen record sales, record growth in our
workforce and facilities, and for the first time
ever, we now have two vehicles being built in
parallel on our production line.

We thought that building the One:1 was ambitio-

us. The new Koenigsegg Regera raised ambition
to a whole new level and is a car that I could
not be more proud of. The driving experience
is sublime, the power delivery may just redefine
the word ‘smooth’ and whilst few may believe it
is possible, the quality of the work done by our
engineers and our craftsmen has been raised
even higher.

It is my dream to build the absolute best

high-performance sports cars in the world. If you
are reading this magazine, chances are that you
dream of owning one of these amazing crea-
tions yourself some day. I sincerely hope that
both our dreams come true.

The ‘Hundra’ was Koenigsegg’s first
foray into working with gold leaf on an
exterior finish and the same craftsman
who worked on that car returned to
Ängelholm to wield his expertise on
‘Naraya’.

Ettore “Blaster” Callegaro is

a master craftsman from Italy
who is best known throug-
hout Europe and the United
States for his hand-painted
pinstriping applied to custom
cars and motorcycles.
He is also a master at working with 24K
gold leaf. His work on ‘Naraya’ was the
second time he has applied his touch to
a Koenigsegg car. He has since returned
for a third time, applying more gold leaf
to chassis #7131 ‘Gryphon’, shown at the
Geneva Motor Show in 2017.

Ettore spent two weeks at the

Koenigsegg factory working on ‘Naraya’.
Parts that were to be covered in the pre-
cious metal receive an adhesive before
the gold leaf is brushed from its backing
sheet onto the surface.

Close inspection of the completed leaf

work shows a turned finish, which is
applied by hand. Ettore uses a tool the
size of a champagne cork, with fabric
on one end. He presses the tool against
the leaf and then turns it to scar the gold
and create the turned effect.

‘Naraya’ is notable not just for the gold

leaf itself, but also for the sheer number
of parts that received this treatment. The
car’s stripes are perhaps the most no-
ticeable gold element, but look closely
and you will see myriad parts covered in
gold - from headlamp rings to door pulls,
heater vents to hood struts.

Driving Days
in California
Koenigsegg Automotive only
does two events per year as a
company. One of them is the
Geneva Motor Show. The other
is Monterey Car Week.
Koenigsegg cars appear at other events
such as Goodwood, Salon Privé, and the
New York Auto Show, but those events are
generally organised by our local dealers in
the area, with Koenigsegg providing vehic-
les and other support.

Geneva is crucial for us as both an industry

event and as a public/customer event. It’s a
chance to get our industry news to the world
during the biggest show on the automotive
calendar.

Monterey Car Week is crucial to us as a

customer outreach activity. It’s a chance for
us to connect with our customers in a com-
fortable setting, in a truly beautiful part of the
world. We get to know them and their family
through tours and test drives of our vehicles,
over meals together and via conversations
that can last for hours.

Monterey always proves to be a very sa-

tisfying week for our team. We meet a LOT
of people and, hopefully, we get to add a
few new members to the Koenigsegg family
when all is said and done.

Koenigsegg is re-entering the US
market with both the Agera and
Regera models and there is a ge-
nuine appetite amongst car fans to
see the cars first hand, and to learn
about the amazing performance and
value that Koenigsegg cars offer.

It was certainly interesting to see a

greater awareness about
Koenigsegg at Monterey. Last year,
we were doing basic introductions
as to who we are and what our cars
could do. This year, thanks to online
film such as Apex, and Jay Leno’s
Garage, as well as our own promo-
tional activities, we noticed a much
greater awareness of the brand
among visitors to the Koenigsegg
stand.

McCall’s Motorworks Revival

McCall’s Motorworks Revival takes
place at the Monterey Jet Center
and places the best in automotive
with the best in personal aviation.
The event starts at 5pm and it’s
quite spectacular to watch the skies
darken and the displays light up.

Not only did we have the Agera XS

and Regera looking amazing on the
Koenigsegg stand, we also had the
support of two of our customers who
brought their CCX and Agera R to
the event for display.

Patrons at the event are free to

inspect all vehicles up close and
personal – both cars and jets. There
were many who asked about the
price of the Regera and commented
about the decisions they’d have to
make between it and the similarly
priced Cirrus Aviation personal jet
on display. Decisions, decisions...

There was plenty of food, drink and

entertainment on hand, and combi-
ned with the truly exquisite machine-
ry on display, McCall’s makes for a
splendid way to spend an evening.

Certified
Legends
Choosing a Koenigsegg is a statement that
only the absolute best in quality and
performance will do. Like us, you choose
to pursue automotive perfection.
Every new Koenigsegg we build comes to its owner facto-
ry-fresh and equipped with the latest technology we can
build into it. It is a performance car without peer and will
give its owner years of performance driving at the highest
possible level.

Time moves on, however, and sometimes people within our

owner family choose to replace their Koenigsegg with a
new one. Sometimes this involves a trade with their pre-
vious Koenigsegg as part of the deal. This is the likely path
from which a pre-loved Koenigsegg becomes a Certified
Legend.

Certified Legends are pre-owned Koenigseggs that have

returned to our factory in Ängelholm and been thoroughly
refreshed. Every element of the car is inspected, serviced or
where required, replaced with original Koenigsegg parts.

We also take the opportunity to upgrade and update the car,

where possible, to the most recent available specification.
This may mean a new interior, new paint, or upgrades to
new mechanical parts: suspension, brakes and/or engine
management systems. Essentially, the car is made factory
fresh once again, ensuring that it looks, feels and drives its
absolute best.

Choosing a Koenigsegg Certified Legend is the best way

to protect your investment in pure performance. Certified
Legends represent the best of our brand’s history and all
Certified Legends are sold with a two-year factory warranty.
