To the Selection Committee,

It is my pleasure to recommend Ashley Middleton to you. Over the course of the last three years, I have had the pleasure of
working with and getting to know Ashley in several capacities. When she entered high school as a freshman, I was the
Gifted Resource Specialist at Landstown High School. Her middle school gifted specialist sent me an email over the summer
to tell me what a special young lady I was receiving and she was not wrong. She is one of the most dedicated, mature
students I have ever had the pleasure of working with. She is focused and driven to succeed academically, taking on well
more than is expected of even an above-average student. Ashley has a quiet grace about all she does, but she is very willing
to lead in difficult situations and does so with fidelity.

In addition to her academics, Ashley is very involved in extracurricular work at Landstown. She is a member of National
Honor Society, National Medical Honor Society, and National English Honor Society. She is deeply involved in DECA at both
the district and state level, as well being highly active in the Class of 2020, where she has served as an elected officer every
year. She spends many honors volunteering her time tutoring students at Landstown and in her neighborhood. Her
extra-curricular club involvement is too numerous to list, so I will highlight a few. Ashley serves as the volleyball team
manager, and puts in hours of work as a student mentor in several capacities including our Eagle Nation Orientation and
Advisory program. She also spends at least one afternoon a week traveling over to mentor a struggling 5th grade
elementary school student.

All of the leadership and collaborative skills that Ashley has refined through her intense academic rigor and extra-curricular
leadership roles will make her a leader in college, the work force and the world. She is able to lead people with confidence,
give constructive criticism, and create a successful plan to approach and solve problems. She gracefully balances school and
her extracurricular work in a way that is inspiring to her teachers and her classmates. Ashley is that name that is always
tossed out when teachers and clubs need someone they can depend on for an important task; she always says yes, and
more impressively, she always follows through happily and thoroughly!

Ashley Middleton is reliable and always keenly focused on doing her best at any task she undertakes. She handles a
demanding academic and extra-curricular load with grace and fidelity. I cannot recommend her enough for this
opportunity. She will be a worthy representative of your investment and is truly the epitome of what the word service
