1. Notes on safety
For your own safety
Prior to commissioning, it is essential that the
operating instructions and notes on safety are read
and observed,
Explanation of symbols:
A Safety notes for the protection of
Personnel.
Notes relating to the protection of the
system.
Notes on safety relating to electrical
hazards.

The notes on safety must be observed
in the interest of your own safety.

When selecting the site for installation of the
dampening solution cooling unit and associated
components, the specified escape routes must be
kept free
‘The unit must be placed on a horizontal surface.
The place of installation must offer the system firm

‘Ambient temperature during transportation. must
be between -25°C and 70°C if completely drained
of all water and 1°C to 40°C during operation
If the installation is at an altitude higher than 2000
m above sea level, efficiency may be reduced

Handling of alcohol
Observe the safety data sheets for the

flammable liquids.
The ground straps of the alcohol
stabilizer must have contact with the top
of the tank. If necessary bend the
ground straps outwards !

+ Only use permitted alcohol tanks to supply
alcohol for immediate needs.
* Its the customer's responsibilty to store the
alcohol in a suitable container.
* Regularly check alcohol hoses for signs of
leakage.
‘+ Naked flames, lights, fire etc. are forbidden in
the vicinity of alcohol canisters and tanks.
‘+ Any overfiow or spilt alcohol is to be kept away
from areas where ignition or fire might occur
‘+ Overflowing or spilt alcohol is to be diluted
immediately with plenty of water and is to be
‘mopped or soaked up witn suitable materials,
Handling of additive-concentrates
Please take note of the safety data sheets of the
corresponding manufacturers for the safe handling of
the additive-concentrates,
Additives have to be classified as slight water-
contaminants. Please note corresponding disposal
information given by the manufacturers.

General notes on safety
All persons concerned with the installation,
commissioning, operation, maintenance and repair
of the system and its components must have read
and understood the operating instructions,
particularly the chapter “notes on safety’. If
necessary, in house instruction should be provided,
taking into account the specialist qualifications of
the individual persons.
Prior to commissioning the system, the user must
convince himseff that all safety conditions are met
The system must be maintained and repaired only
by persons who are familiar with the system and
have been informed about the potential hazards and
have the necessary qualifications.
‘The pertinent regulations for prevention of accidents
and other generally recognised safety and industrial
medicine requirements must be observed.
Notes on safety for operating personnel
All working methods are forbidden, which:
Constitute a danger to the life and limb of the
user or third parties,
Are detrimental to the system or constitute
other hazards.
Ate detrimental to the safety and proper
functioning of the machine,
Are not in compliance with the specified

No safety devices must be removed or
rendered inoperative!
If it should become necessary to remove safety
devices for setting, repair and maintenance
Purposes, the safety devices must be replaced
immediately on completion of maintenance or repair
work

observed.

Use for the intended purpose
‘The unit is intended solely for the application
explained in 2. Description / survey with the
components supplied and approved by technotrans.
Use for any other than the intended purpose is
considered improper. The manufacturer disclaims
all ability for any damage resulting from such use;
the user/operator is solely liable.
Terms of guarantee
Not intended use and unauthorised changes or
‘modifications to the unit and its components which
are part of the scope of supply of Messrs
technotrans, exclude any fabilly of the
manufacturer for damage caused as a result of
such changes or modifications. The
warranty/guarantee of | the manufacturer is.
invalidated.
