Detailed Lesson Plan in Health 7

I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson the students are expected to:

1. Discuss the nature of non-communicable disease.


2. Identify the types and cause and symptoms of allergy.
3. Create slogan that promote awareness in non-communicable disease.

III. PROCEDURES

A. Motivation

“I’m not feeling well today, because of runny


nose. I don’t know if I got it from other people or from the
weather.”

 Who among of you are experiencing runny nose?

 Do you think runny nose is a disease?  Yes, mam!

 You said yes, so is it communicable or non-  Non-communicable disease.

 Before we proceed to our topic I will show you a

sickness.
 Very Good! And unhealthy habits may cause some
diseases.
B. Lesson Proper

 Our topic for today is about non-communicable disease


and the one of common non-communicable disease is
allergy.

 But before we focus on allergy, let us first discuss what


non-communicable disease is?  Non-Communicable diseases are not caused
by pathogens or disease-causing organisms
such as bacteria or viruses, but rather, by
how people live, by conditions with which
they are born or by the hazards around
 It also includes diseases caused by a breakdown of them.
the body tissues, poor diet, environmental and
occupational hazards, stress and tension.

 So, we have these diseases because of our lifestyle


nowadays, all we want is instant.

 And recently Mayon Volcano is erupting and I think


this is one of the causes of my runny nose is the ash
fall, and it cause me allergy, and allergy is one of
common non-communicable diseases.

 How do you define Allergy?  Allergy is a misguided reaction to foreign


substances by the immune system. The
allergic reaction is misguided in that these
foreign substances are usually harmless.
 And there are substances that can trigger allergy
that is called allergen. Allergen includes pollens, dust
mites, molds, danders, and certain food.

 The allergy has many types. What are these?  The Hay fever (allergic rhinitis)
Is the most common of the allergic diseases
and characterized by seasonal nasal
symptoms that are due to pollens.
 But in a year round your allergic rhinitis can be
trigger even if you stay at home because of dust
mites or mold.
 Runny nose, stuffy nose, sneezing, nasal itching,
itchy ears and throat and post nasal drip are the
common signs and symptoms of allergic rhinitis.

 What are the other types of allergy?  Allergic conjunctivitis is an inflammation of


the tissue layers that cover the surface of

C. Generalization

1. How the allergy can be trigger?  It can be trigger if you are directly have contact or
inhale the so called allergen, such as pollens, dust
mite, danders and certain foods.
