PROJECT TITLE:
A study on secrets to self motivation

INTRODUCTION:
Self-motivation is a power that drives the employees to move forward and act. It is a
rudimentary means to realize any set goals by human beings. It creates inventiveness in setting
vibrant goals and establishes the confidence that the organization possesses requisite skills
and competencies for achieving the goals.
Managers or employers in small organization need to be self-motivated and for them self-
motivation is more necessary as they need to motivate others. As a team leader or manager
you will be looked to for reassurance and guidance in a job, and if you give the impression
that you are merely going through the motions, your lack of motivation can become contagious
and may prove disastrous for the organization as a whole.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY:

To determine the importance of secrets of self motivation in an organization.

DISCUSSION ABOUT THE TOPIC:

Self-motivation is important for achieving success in work and personal life. A well-accepted
explanation of human behavior is that people have needs and motives propelling them toward
achieving certain goals. The central idea behind need theory is that unsatisfied needs motivate
us until they become satisfied. After satisfaction of one need, the person usually pursues
satisfaction of another, higher need.

Work and personal life offer the opportunity to satisfy many different needs and motives.
Among the more important needs and motives are achievement, power, affiliation,
recognition, and order. The need for risk taking and thrill seeking is also important for some
people. Generational differences in needs have been observed, such as older people placing a
higher value on security and younger people placing a higher value on risk taking.

I investigated this topic through researching online journal articles and some business websites.
I began my research by interviewing people in the field of human resources to assist me in
developing a clear understanding and focus of self motivation. The topic from the beginning
was self motivation, but after talking to peers, adults, and my advisor I knew that I needed to
focus on the aspects of the topic. I began my research on the internet by using Google to get an
understanding of exactly what I would be discussing. I then used search engines listed on the
Indiana University library’s website. Soon after, I decided to look through relevant books for
information pertaining to motivation. Through all of these resources, I was able to gather the
information needed in order to justify my argument. This is an exciting project to explore
because of the effect of self motivation have on the future.

CONCLUSION:

Self-motivation is one of the underlying forces that distinguish successful employees from
those who stagger from one neglected start up to another. Self-motivation despises the role of
luck, dismisses the component of self-discipline and looks to the power of goals for ultimate
achievement in life. Motivators lose their force and effect with the passage of time. The person
who needs motivation need to change into other useful motivators considering his/her position,
time and choices. However, the foremost thing in keeping yourself motivated is a positive
attitude to get motivated.
