2019
Grade Level/School Grade 7
Time Allotment 60 minutes
Subject/Quarter Science 10 / 3rd Grading
Teach MARICAR A. GANAS
DAILY LESSON LOG/PLAN
I .OBJECTIVES
At the end of the class, the student should be able to:
S7-IIIc-d-23
The learner should be able to:
1. Explain what is speed and average speed
2. Explain the difference between velocity and acceleration
3. Solve mathematically speed, velocity and acceleration
4. Illustrate speed, velocity and acceleration in graphical form
5. Make or construct an A Balloon Powered Car (Improvised Toy Car)
A. Content Standard

The learners demonstrate

understanding of uniformly accelerated
motion, motion in two-dimensions using tables and graphs
B. Performance Standard:
Make an improvised science apparatus for acceleration(A Balloon Powered Car) using the following materials:
Bottle caps(Straw/bananacue,,sticky tape or Glue and balloon

C. Learning Competencies / Learning Code

The Learners should be able to explain speed, average speed, differentiate velocity from acceleration and explain
and illustrate projectile motion (S7-IIIc-d-23)
II. CONTENT
FORCE AND MOTION
1. Speed
2. Average Speed
3. Velocity
4. Acceleration
Description of Localization/Indigenization Contextualization
Localization: The municipality of Dangcagan, is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Bukidnon,
Philippines. According to the 2017 census, it has a population of 23,723 people. It is an agricultural
municipality. We have Banana plantation and yet, Dangacagan is known as the Durian capital of Bukidnon.
Despite the fact that Dangcagan National High School is situated a kilometer away from national high way ;
It is very dangerous and impractical to conduct Kinematics ( speed, velocity and acceleration) activities related
to the topics in the highway. Instead I will make use of a toy car/improvised toy car (A Balloon Powered Car).
Indigenization: The teacher will use a toy car/improvised toy car for the students to grasp the lessons well.
The toy is available in their respective home . The improvised or Balloon Powered car was made out of
mineral/coca cola bottle caps, drinking straw, cardboard, balloon, sticky tape and rubber bonds. These materials
are locally found in the surroundings. Its illustrate the concept speed, velocity and acceleration.
Related Subjects
Mathematics- This field is linked in teaching Mathematics by using Mathematical expressions or formula to
solve the concepts.
MAPEH- in the sense that athletes or players always resist motion and even experience the speed, velocity,
acceleration and projectile motion in their daily activities.
VALUES- the students gain discipline (intellectual honesty and cooperation) in performing the activity.
ENGLISH- in making answers to the given questions following the correct grammar and tenses.
III. LEARNING RESOURCES
K -12 Curriculum – Learner’s Manual

IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the new lesson. Materials
ELICIT /Brainstorming, Video presentation (Palarong Pambansa 2013) Pictures
Collaboration, Lecture/discussion (Behavioral Chart) and Differentiated
Instruction.
At the start of the lesson, the teacher will make sure that the students understood the
prerequisite concepts on Matter and its Interactions.

The teacher may ask the following questions :

1. What did we discuss yesterday? What was the lesson all about?
2. What is the difference between Scalar and Vector quantity?

.
B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson.
ENGAGE
In this phase, the teacher will group the students by Table) and explain the
mechanics /rubrics on how they are rated for the day. Please see the attached Rubric
1. The teacher will group the students by Table, and then they will be given
activity sheets for them to know on how to conduct their activity.
2. Each group will perform the activity and they will provide the data needed
in the table. Through calculating the expected output and group
presentation.
3. The students will construct A Balloon Powered Car by Table

D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills #1 Materials

EXPLAIN: The students will explain the concepts in different ways:
a) Concept Map
b) Broadcasting
c) Speech Choir
The students’ presentation will be used as a springboard to explain Speed,
Velocity, Acceleration and Projectile Motion. Rubric

The teacher will ask the students to identify some other practical 1. Follow the traffic Lights
applications about the concepts (Speed, Average Speed, Velocity and 2. Observe Speed Limit
Acceleration). 3. Reduce speed when it is
rainy/ wet etc.
F. Developing mastery ( lead to formative assessment )
EXTEND Materials
The students will elaborate the concepts through answering the questions below:
1. Is the distance an object moves in a certain amount of time? ¼ sheet of paper
2. Is the total distance moved divided by the total time of motion?
3. The change in an object’s position during time, which includes speed and
the direction the object moves
4. What is the acceleration if the velocity is constant?
5. A form of motion experienced by an object or particle that is thrown near
the Earth's surface and moves along a curved path under the action of
gravity only.
