Working professionals have more signs of Anxiety

Meta description: It is becoming increasingly common to see excessive anxiety

at the workplace due to increased pressure and challenges which decreases the
productivity.

Christine who is 35 years old shares her experience at workplace “ I used to feel
nervous in everything I did. Being an HR Manager always required me to speak to
the authorities as well as the employees but most of the times I used to be
surrounded by my own insecurities. It used to give me shivers when I was
supposed to take the induction programs. Work started making me so nervous
that I was not able to grow up the corporate ladder and was on the verge of
leaving my job when I was detected with severe anxiety disorder. I was initially
afraid of it but then I realized that most of the people are suffering from the same
problem at their respective workplace so now I am fighting it actively”.

Just like Christine there are millions of people who are suffering from anxiety
disorder and according to the surveys conducted, it is more common at the
workplace. Anxiety is spreading like an epidemic and obsessive worrying, racing
thoughts, nervous appearance and avoidant behavior are all becoming too
common. Social anxieties surround people and to escape from the trouble, they
often seclude themselves at the workplace. Normal anxiety is very much common
and everybody face it at some point of their life but when this anxiety starts
hampering the life processes, it is termed as an anxiety disorder which may have
deteriorating effects on the quality of life and your mental health.
Though nobody knows the exact cause of what causes anxiety, but a stressful job
can impact the mental health of even the best ones. The long hours at workplace,
performance pressure, demanding bosses, no clear directions and less
satisfaction due to the low pay or less rewards are the main causes of anxiety at
workplace. For some people the fear of speaking in public is the biggest fear and
they tend to run away from making presentations, taking conference calls etc. The
people suffering from anxiety often end up with less concentration, more fatigue
and low productivity at workplace. It also hampers personal happiness and
satisfaction of the employees. Some of the common signs of anxiety are :
