Description:

The Profi Project builds confidence and develops employability skills within young people who are at risk of
becoming NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training). The project works with local schools, Bangor University
Students, local businesses and organisations. Profi is a hands-on learning programme where participants work on
real life issues relating to young people and so we wanted to use this method with our internship opportunity. We
are looking for candidates to be passionate about working with others, problem solving and be ready to work
creatively.

We require an intern within the Profi Project to support the Project Coordinator in raising project funds for the next
project year. The intern would be required to research local businesses and organisations and establish possible
funding streams with assistance from project coordinator and follow up the streams to develop relationships and
funding partnerships.

The project in the past has organised fundraising events to raise funds for the Profi Programme, the intern will be
required to organise a fundraising event for September celebrating the projects activities and accomplishments to
date. The event should be attended by project partners, perspective funders, University staff, Profi school staff and
local community.

Intern Role:

The intern will assist the project coordinator on project fundraising by researching local businesses and
organisations; research educational grants; liaise with other students and staff members to create project case
studies to share with possible funders; create a document based on research findings and support project
coordinator on the development of next year’s budget.

The intern will assist with the planning and running of a fundraising event to be held in September 2019; support
promotion of event and support ticket sales; gather any items for auction if required; arrange event entertainment
and assist with managing the event details.

Facilities/working environment:

Will work from the Widening Access Centre and Profi Project office within Main Arts. Will be required to attend
different events during the internship period.
