Universal Design for Learning (UDL): Reflect upon the activity you have planned for the students. The
technology tool you selected for this lesson idea will support ALL students. Thinking about the UDL principles,
how does this activity and the technology tools you selected support and enhance the learning experience for
students in the classroom? (The UDL Wheel may help you identify the ways this activity and selected
technology tool will support Engagement, Representation or Action and Expression components of the UDL
framework.) (Delete red directions before submitting to your Weebly.)

Engagement: Quizlet engages students through use of games and active learning.

Representation: Students with learning difficulties may take these quizzes and do these activities at any pace
they wish and where ever they feel most comfortable/is most conducive to their learning.

Action and Expression: Because Quizlet offers many different ways to test and manipulate the information
within, they are given agency in how they engage with the information. They take an active role in their
learning.

Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you will introduce
the SRT activity.

The learning activities prior to the SRT activity will involve direct instruction with the information, likely
through the use of textbooks and online resources. The activity itself is likely to be assigned as homework,
and may be routine throughout the unit to assess progress.

Student Response and Assessment Tools
I think it is important to model how to answer questions, as well as to give students the correct answers from
which to study.
Describe what will happen AFTER the SRT activity?
As it will likely be independent work/homework, nothing in particular will happen after the activity. We may
go over the answers during the warm-up the next day.
How will the data be used?
The data will be used to tweak lessons and adjust instruction to better suit student progress. This is the true
value of SRTs: as formative assessment to better teach from.

Describe your personal learning goal for this activity.

As previously mentioned, the goal is to assess student progress, but also to clue students into what the most
important information is. It will also provide them with an opportunity to practice recalling and applying this
knowledge.
Reflective Practice:
I think this is a useful tool for student practice, but mostly as a betterment tool for teachers and instructors.
