Modern Art Bingo Lesson Plan
Objective:​ Students will be able to identify the different types of modern art, and apply how the
art reflects a society’s viewpoint at that time.
15 min
Intro​: CNN10, short discussion on the news then lead into a review on yesterday’s notes about
modern art in the 1920’s.
30 min
Through:​ With the students review have them write the 5 types of art on the board for other
students to identify. Then Instruct the students to fill out their BINGO chart, while modeling on
the Board an Example. Once everyone is ready start the game, let students know it is okay to
discuss the type of art with their partner and use their notes. The Art is in the google slides with
the style written in the speaker notes. Once a person says BINGO review that they are correct
and instruct them to help their partner discuss what kind of art it is in the meantime. Once the
game is over instruct students to discuss with their partner what their favorite art was, and what
it made them feel. After bring it back to a class discussion of their favorite pieces, then instruct
them to answer the paragraph response on the bottom of their BINGO sheet.

Conclusion: ​Have students fill out their paragraph, if enough time collect the BINGO sheets,
and asks students to share their responses with their partner, then with the class in a
think-pair-share activity.
