Mario Escote-Manzano, now 44 years old, came back home to the province after becoming
frustrated by the jobs he found in Manila as factory worker and security guard.

The Bagtason Loom Weavers Association, through the assistance of the Department of Trade
and Industry (DTI), was established to encourage residents of Bugasong to produce and again
market their own local product,” Manzano said.

The Bagtason Loom Weavers Associations (BLWA) based in Bagtason, Bugasong, Antique is
the producer and maker of quality loom woven products in the province. The industry began
back in the pre-Hispanic times where women engaged themselves in patadyong weaving as
occupation right in their homes. According Mr. Mario Manzano, the president of BLWA, the
business was established to encourage residents of Bugasong to produce and again market
their own local products.
