Begin this online class by introducing the activity, the students

additional information on specific geographic regions/places in
the United States.
This online activity asks the students to imagine themselves
working at their states tourism office and they are going to create
a PowerPoint presentation to entice future tourist. Each student
will be randomly given a specific state to research. So, each
student will have a different experience and different research to
present using PowerPoint. Students will have three weeks to
research and create PowerPoint presentation. On the fourth week
they will present (share) to their peers and teacher (via google
drive). They will have freedom of creativity in presenting and
teacher will go over Rubric requirements:

The teacher will also suggest or hint to look up each state’s


tourism website for further research resources. The website
presented will show the United States information in a safe online
environment on the National Geographic Kids website. Website is
user friendly. Students are allowed additional resources but must
cite them. Students are not allowed to use non-creditable resources
such as Wikipedia, CNN and Blog cites. At any time can students
present or ask questions of teacher if further information is
needed.

After this introduction, students can begin the assignment.


Individually, the students will have the choice to choose a state in
the United States, a specific city with a geographic region to
research, and how they choose to analyze and present their
research in a PowerPoint presentation.

This activity is interactive, engaging the whole class for an


individual experience, informative, using research skill, reading
comprehension, public speaking skills and using PowerPoint. The
teacher will then be able to assess if the students have gained
anything out of the activity after presenting presentations using
grading Rubric.

Teacher can also optionally have students give individual


feedback on their peer’s presentations by completing a peer
review form provided by teacher, for a class participation grade.
Students will be required to review three of their peers.
